Overview for Georgia

Georgia does not allow firearm discharge within 1000ft of a school, school bus, other school transportation, or school function. The 1000ft can extend beyond the school’s property. Written permission can be provided by a school official to allow this. This does not apply to licensed people picking up students, shooting events, organized sports events, firearms training, or locked compartment/gun rack in a vehicle owned by someone at least 21 years old, when the vehicle is used to pick up or drop off a student.

Firearms cannot be discharged within 50 yards of a street or highway. Unless you have written permission from the owner fire a weapon on private land that you do not own is illegal.
