To obtain a concealed handgun, individuals need to apply for a permit through a local sheriff's department.
Requirements to hold a firearm license
Complete the application for a concealed carry permit.
Attach a passport-style photograph of the applicant and proof of completion of a firearm safety training course.
Submit the application in person to the applicantÕs local county sheriffÕs office or online via the Kentucky State Police Portal.
Pay a $60 application fee.
It will take the sheriffÕs office within sixty (60) days of receiving the application to issue or deny a license.
