Hawaii's Open Carry

Hawaii issues open carry permits on a "may issue" basis. Permits may be issued by the chief of police "Where the urgency or the need has been sufficiently indicated" as long as the person "is engaged in the protection of life and property".

What is Open Carry?

Open carry is the ability to carry a gun in plain view. Some states require a permit to open carry, and some do not, but most have restrictions on where it is legal to open carry.
